BIO
After a 20-year career in corporate communications, I returned to freelance consulting and independent writing with a primary focus on what I call the radical frontier of innovation and discovery. My clients include public and pre-IPO companies and nonprofits, and my Service Model encompasses brand definition, brand expression, stakeholder engagement, measurement and evaluation.
Before 2013, I served as Managing Director and global head of marketing and communications for GMI Ratings, a sustainability and corporate governance research firm acquired by MSCI. I had joined the firm soon after the merger of three predecessor companies, and I played a key role in promoting the value of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) ratings of more than 19,000 publicly traded entities worldwide. I also led three successful product launches and editorial coverage of company-specific news and systemic trends in corporate governance and accounting practices.
Before I joined GMI Ratings, I held senior positions at global communications consultancies (e.g., Ruder Finn, RF|Binder, WE Communications) and agencies specializing in life sciences and transportation. In addition to building teams and managing client portfolios, I led proprietary research focused on dominant issues in corporate communications, including the impact of regulatory changes (e.g., RegFD), the evolution of sustainability accounting standards, and the mainstream adoption of responsible investing principles.
In the late 1990s, I worked on several dotcom IPOs and served as head of Investor Relations for Juno Online Services, one of the largest Internet Service Providers (ISPs) at the time.
I received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Sociology from Yeshiva University, and later completed coursework in Organizational Psychology at Teachers College, Columbia University.
